Dr Seamus O’Reilly BSc MD PhD FRCPI- is consultant medical oncologist at Cork-Mercy and South Infirmary Victoria University Hospitals. A graduate of University College Galway he completed medical oncology training at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD where he was subsequently Assistant Professor in Medical Oncology. During fellowship training there he completed a PhD in Clinical Investigation.
Dr. O'Reilly has been consultant medical oncologist in Cork since 2001and is Principal Investigator of the Oncology Clinical Trials unit there which offers patients with cancer access to national and internationally conducted trials in breast and other cancers. An active member of the All Ireland Co-operative Oncology Research Group (ICORG) he is editor of the journal Cancerwise and is author/coauthor of over 50 peer reviewed publications. Cancer related charitable activities include being co founder of the South Eastern Cancer Foundation and Chairperson Board of Trustees Cork ARC Cancer Support House.
