Dr. M. W. Bennett is a Harvard trained breast pathologist, board certified by the American Board of Pathology. 

Dr Bennett trained as resident, chief resident and fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital and was appointed consultant in breast and general pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, as well as an instructor at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Bennett returned to Ireland to take up a consultant post with BreastCheck, which included the introduction of breast screening pathology covering the south of Ireland.  As chairman he contributed significantly to the group which oversaw the creation of the breast pathology service at Cancer Centre South/CUH. 

Dr Bennett has a PhD in cancer biology and has published original research and clinical reports on breast cancer and benign breast disease. 

Dr. Bennett is current director of symptomatic and screening breast pathology at Cancer Centre South/CUH.
